IGP’s younger brother appointed SSG of Nasarawa

Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa, has appointed Mohammed Aliyu as the new secretary to the state government (SSG).
Aliyu is the younger brother of Mohammed Adamu, the inspector general of police (IGP).
The development comes hours after Aliyu Ahmed-Tijani, the former SSG, was sacked by the governor.
Yakubu Lamai, the governor’s spokesman, announced the appointment in a statement on Wednesday.
The appointment takes effect immediately.
According to the statement, Aliyu served as a former executive chairman of Lafia local government council from 1999 to 2002, and has also worked as partner at various law firms.
His most recent position before his appointment as SSG was as a partner at Atafi Chambers, a position he held since 2005.
