Gunmen abduct president of Taraba customary court

Donatus Yantau Shidda, president of the Taraba state customary court of appeal, has been abducted by gunmen.
The incident, it was learnt, occurred in the early hours of Monday.
Shidda was taken away after the gunmen struck at his residence located in Jalingo, the state’s capital city.
Confirming the development to TheCable, David Misal, spokesman of the Taraba police command, described the development as “unfortunate”.
“Yes, we are aware. It is rather unfortunate,” he said.
Misal said the police have already begun investigating the incident and that they are doing everything possible to rescue Shidda.
The development is coming a day after President Muhammadu Buhari warned bandits to surrender or face “disgraceful and violent end”.

Many have criticised the federal government for not doing enough to curb the activities of these bandits unleashing terror on citizens across the country.
