Former Oyo State Governor dies at 70

The Oyo State former Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has been reported to have died on Thursday at a yet to be reviewed hospital after a brief illness in the country.
The former governor’s death was confirmed to The Guild by a close source from the Oyo state Government and that Ajimobi.
The former governor was said to have died at the age of 70 years leaving behind wife and children.
The news of his death has been passed across to the Oyo state House Assembly and the Speaker of the house is expected to officially announce the passing away of the former governor.

EFCC Arrests Adedamola Adewale "@adeherself", 4 Others For Internet Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested and paraded a top social media Influencer, Adedamola Adewale who goes by the username @adeherself on Instagram and Twitter. Adedamola was paraded alongside four other suspects arrested by EFCC for their alleged involvements in various internet frauds.While Adewale, 20, and his accomplice, Lamina Hamzat Ajibola, were arrested at the Agungi area of Lekki, Lagos State, the trio of Israel Onyebuchi, Emmanuel Olayode and Valentine Nwokorie were picked up at the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State. Policeman: After escaping bullets of soldiers who freed Wadume, villagers beat the hell out of me

Felix Adolije, a police officer who was part of the team sent to arrest of Hamisu Bala, a suspected kidnap kingpin better known as Wadume, has told a federal high court in Abuja how soldiers attacked the police vehicle in a bid to free the suspect. Led in evidence by Magaji Labaran, prosecution counsel, the witness who is an assistant superintendent of police said they received a petition saying that some unidentified men demanded a N200m ransom from relatives of their victim. He said after analysing four phone numbers with which the suspects used in making the demand, the team identified one Bashir, a “soft target” in Taraba, who in turn led them to Wadume in Ibbi on August  6, 2019. On a breezy morning in March 2019, Ogar Jumbo, an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), was driving his two kids to school when he was reportedly beaten to death by officers of the Nigeria police force in Nyanya, a suburb of Abuja. Jumbo, who was also with his wife,  was said to have violated traffic rules . An argument ensued and the police officers pounced on him, according to witnesses who said his wife and two children — aged five and eight — cried and watched helplessly until the man drew his last breath. PTF briefs Buhari as second phase of eased lockdown ends

President Muhammadu Buhari has received briefing from the presidential task force on COVID-19 at the end of another phase of the gradual easing of the lockdown he ordered to check the spread of coronavirus. The briefing took place at the presidential villa, Abuja, on Monday. Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation and chairman of the task force, led his team to the briefing. Those who joined Mustapha are Osagie Ehanire, minister of health; Chikwe Ihekweazu, director general of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC); and Sani Aliyu, coordinator of the PTF. Buhari had ordered a lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja on March 30. He later extended the movement restriction by three weeks.
